Introduction

This page includes texture maps applied to the interactive 3D morphing project, where Earth transforms to a rainbow. For implementation details see the Learn to Morph tutorial.

Swipe over the earth or tap the Animate button to watch a three dimensional globe transform into a colorful rainbow shape on the Web in 3D, with WebGL. This project loads two textures and meshes.

The rainbow texture was applied to a warped spherical shape in 3ds Max. The image for the globe texture was applied to a sphere. NASA generated the original earth map. Seven Thunder Software modified the texture map with Photoshop.
